Mackay Regional Council green waste

Mackay Regional Council has contracted our team to manage and process the region’s green waste collected at the Mackay Regional Council waste transfer facilities. We have a dedicated team that specifically oversees the green waste facilities including to ensure green waste volumes do not create space issues. Mulched material is transported back to Vereco’s Mackay facility.

In addition to managing multiple sites, our team strictly monitors contaminants and ensures facilities meet all specialist and general workplace health and safety requirements.

An exciting feature of this work is that the green waste collected across the Mackay region is beneficially reused to make our high-grade OG36 compost and soil blends, resulting in around 12,000m³ of mulched material each year alone. These products, in turn, create the foundation for revegetation programs around regional Queensland – a powerful story of a circular economy in action.
