Vereco launch welcomes new era for delivering ecologies

Longstanding Queensland businesses, Lanyonscapes and AJK Contracting, have formally merged under the new banner of Vereco, led by the same owner and team.

The merge, planned over the last year, is focused on driving greater value to clients alongside greater efficiency and effectiveness, with the business’ suite of services continuing under this united approach.

CEO & Founder, Scott Verrall, said the shift provides a stronger platform for the team to deliver large-scale revegetation landscaping, earthworks and organics supply across regional Queensland and into the Northern Territory.

“After buying Lanyonscapes in 2012 and AJK Contracting in 2022, the synergies and also overlaps between the two companies meant this was our best pathway to driving clearer, streamlined benefits for our clients and being easier to do business with,” Scott said.

“The name ‘Vereco’ came from the idea of ‘delivering ecologies’, which has been the heartbeat of these businesses since Lanyonscapes was founded in 1985,” he said.

“Vereco’s work will build on the history and DNA of these two superb companies to continue leaving a legacy of green, good and growing in everything we do, anchored around the principle of a circular economy.”

The Lanyonscapes business contributes qualities such as pioneering in early revegetation technology in Australia, and AJK Contracting contributes qualities such as product manufacturing and civil delivery excellence.

Their combined capabilities, from Vereco’s head office in Mackay, will support infrastructure, resources, development and renewables projects; horticulture and agriculture enterprises; government, port and utility operations; landscaping businesses and more.

The business’ five service streams include recyclable waste receiving; bulk haulage and earthworks; mobile screening, crushing and grinding; bulk organic and other landscape supply; and revegetation landscaping and rehabilitation.

“We are committed to ensuring our services are set apart for the smarts of our technical expertise, the solutions we develop in partnership with clients, the reliability we assure for every aspect of our offer, and ultimately the results delivered,” Scott said.

“We say that results should start from day one of work delivered, but that sustainable results should last well beyond delivery…even to generations from now,” he said.

In addition to Vereco’s Mackay head office, its offices and facilities span Gladstone, the Sunshine Coast, Townsville and Humpty Doo, backed by a team skilled in managing everything from urban contracts through to the complex logistics of remote location work.
